Over the last (more than) 30 years I have written many reports for policy makers and water managers, and scientific papers for peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. About 15 years ago I decided to also write for a wide audience in a non-specialist way. My first book in this category, a book on the Dutch Rhine, was published in 2004. This book has also been published in English and in Chinese.

My second non-specialist book was published in 2007. This book is about the water history of the Netherlands. Meanwhile I have started doing research for my third book, on Europe in a changing climate.

Not only do I write books and papers that start as my own initiative, I also get hired a lot by several clients for supervising, coordinating or writing (parts of) books, strategic plans or research proposals.
